What is the PM Kisan Scheme?

If they qualify, farmers may earn 2,000 rupees every four months, or 6,000 rupees per year, under the Prime Minister’s Kisan initiative. March–April, August–November, and December–March are the three months when the funds are dispersed annually. Beneficiaries receive the funds directly in their bank accounts.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the plan after then-finance minister Piyush Goyal revealed it in the 2019 Interim Budget. The scheme has now become the largest Direct Benefit Transfer initiative in the world.
