Indira Gandhi Single Girl Child Scholarship Award

  • Three thousand females from all throughout the nation get monthly monetary assistance for two years via the single-girl kid scholarship.

  • The female candidate’s parents must have no other children. Female students who are either twins or fraternal children are eligible to apply for this UGC award, but they must not have any brothers.
  • To be eligible for admission to the postgraduate program, candidates’ ages cannot exceed 30.
  • This fellowship is not available to students enrolled in a postgraduate program via online learning.
  • Additionally, this award does not have any financial requirements for applicants.

Terms and Conditions

  • This UGC fellowship is only available to students who are currently enrolled in their first year of a postgraduate program.
  • No extra funding will be provided to the applicants to cover expenses such as hostel fees, medical bills, etc.
  • No tuition is required of the recipients of this scholarship for a single girl’s education at the host institutions.
  • Canara Bank is the designated bank that recipients must submit a Progress Report in the specified format to after the first academic year after receiving the scholarship amount. This report determines whether recipients get funding for the next academic year. The necessary signatures of the department head, university registrar, head of the institution, or principal of the college are required on this report.
  • Candidates are reminded that they are required to repay the whole sum immediately to the UGC account using e-mode (RTGS/NEFT) in the event that they terminate their studies without giving UGC prior notice.
  • This grant opens the door for future scholarship opportunities for deserving applicants.
  • If the applicant engages in misbehaviour, gives false information at any point in the application process, or receives a first-year grade below 55% (or 50% for Physically Challenged recipients), the scholarship may be cancelled.
