NISER Bhubaneswar Summer Internship 2025: For the summer of 2025, students of the biological sciences at NISER, Bhubaneswar, may participate in an internship program run by the School of Biological Sciences. It’s an opportunity to hone your abilities in the biological sciences while collaborating closely with world-renowned scientists.

Participants in the dynamic summer internship program offered by the School of Biological Sciences (SBS) at NISER work on a variety of cutting-edge research projects under the guidance of our faculty. Long-term internship from July 1, 2025, to December 20, 2025, and a short-term summer internship from May 16, 2025, to July 31, 2025.

Seminars on current research work in various domains and trips to different research centres of NISER are just a few of the extracurricular activities that participants are able to participate in along with their regular project work via SBS. The program welcomes applications from students throughout India who are interested.

Internship Details:

  • Short-Term: May 16 – July 31, 2025
  • Long-Term: July 1 – December 2025

Who Can Apply?

Students pursuing B.Sc, M.Sc, or Integrated M.Sc in Biology.

Application Process:

  1. Contact an SBS faculty member for approval.
  2. Submit an application form, NOC, transcripts, and other documents by April 21, 2025.
  3. Private institute students must pay ₹10,000 for long-term projects.

Accommodation:

  • ₹20/day (shared room) or ₹2000/month (single room).

What’s the internship about?

Under the guidance of NISER professors, you will get practical experience in the lab and with research throughout your internship. It’s perfect for biology students who want to go further than what they can find in books.

Internship Details:

  • Duration: May to July 2025 (up to 3 months)
  • Where: NISER, Bhubaneswar – School of Biological Sciences (SBS)
  • For Whom: Students currently studying in recognized colleges or universities (UG/PG) in life sciences or related areas.

Note: If you’ve already done this internship before, you can’t apply again.

How to apply?

Before applying for a summer internship, students should send an email to the faculty members with whom they are interested in working. Applying to the program should be reserved for the applicant alone if faculty members are willing to monitor them. Explore more about the study area by clicking on the link below.

The faculty members of SBS and their contact information. The applicant must fill out the application form and get it signed by the head of their department or institution.

In addition to the application form, you must submit the No Objection Certificate (NOC) and the email consent that you acquired from your academic supervisor. By April 21, 2025, the SBS office must have received all properly completed applications, certificates, mark sheets, email correspondence, No Objection Certificates, etc. We will reject applications outright if they are incomplete.

Note

The private institution requires students to pay a project fee of Rs.10,000.00 when they enrol for long-term projects. If you have any more questions about paying the charge, you may contact the SBS office.

What do you get?

At the end of the internship, you’ll receive a Project Completion Certificate from NISER.
