Candidates are required to be aware of this. For the 2025–26 school year, the NEST exam is set for June 22, 2025.

The NEST 2025 exam is a national-level examination that is administered annually throughout India. The following programs at UM-DAE CEBS and NISER are available to prospective students: the Integrated 5-year Master’s Program, the Master’s Program in Medical and Radiological Physics, the Integrated Master’s Program with a Doctoral Degree, and the Doctoral Program.

On February 17, 2025, the NEST 2025 application process will begin, and on June 2, 2025, the NEST 2025 admit card will be published. Candidates for the first round of the NEST CEBS 2025 Counselling Process are expected to begin their journey in the first week of August 2025 at the latest.

The chosen individuals must be punctual to claim their seats; failure to do so will result in the loss of those seats. As a rough estimate, we may expect to see the NEST CEBS and NEST NISER counselling schedules made public around the third week of July 2025.

When students are aware of when the NEST 2025 exam will be, they may begin to plan how they will study for the test. The total number of seats for the Integrated Master’s program at NISER is 200, whereas at UMDAE CEBS, it’s 57.

Exam Pattern for NEST 2025

Before you can devise a plan to get a high score, you need to know the test format.

  • We will be using computer-based testing (CBT Mode) for this exam.
  • Both Hindi and English will be used as the language of the question paper. In the event that there is any misunderstanding or disagreement caused by language, the English question paper shall be used as the standard.
  • The question paper will be divided into four areas containing objective (mcq)- type questions. The four subjects (physics, chemistry, biology, and mathematics) will be tested in sections with a total score of 60 marks.
  • There will be precisely one right response for each of the twenty questions in each segment.
  • Evaluation rubric:
  • Three marks will be awarded for selecting the right answer.
  • A loss of one point will result from selecting the wrong answer, whereas failing to respond to a question will not result in a loss of any marks whatsoever.
  • Keep in mind that the applicant should do their best on every part.
  • Three of the four parts will be used to compile the merit list for both institutions; the section with the lowest score will not be taken into account. In other words, the merit list will be prepared using scores out of 180.
