In Pune, Maharashtra, Union Home Minister Amit Shah presented Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (Phase-2) approval letters to 20 lakh beneficiaries and the first instalment to 10 lakh beneficiaries. This phase allocated the most dwellings to Maharashtra, from 13.5 lakh to 19.5 lakh. The dwellings will include toilets, solar panels and gas cylinders to enhance living conditions.
With 3.8 crore impoverished homes, Amit Shah stressed the government’s objective of 5 crore by 2029. Among the social programs he talked about were Ayushman Bharat cards, 4 crore houses under PMAY, 13 crore toilets, and 5 kg of free food grains for each person every month. Major Eligibility Changes in Moradabad
Exciting adjustments have been made to the qualifying requirements of the plan in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, which has disappointed many hopefuls. The most recent changes have resulted in the exclusion of several groups that were previously eligible for assistance.
Many are worried about the new regulations because they make it harder for those who were hoping to get help under the plan to qualify.
Slow Implementation in Ambedkar Nagar
At the same time, PMAY is moving at a snail’s pace in Ambedkar Nagar, Uttar Pradesh. Beneficiaries have had to endure lengthy wait times due to administrative inefficiencies and postponed building work.
Despite the program’s assurances of housing for many worthy families, construction on their houses has stalled. People are becoming more dissatisfied due to the sluggish implementation.
Rising Concerns Over PMAY Execution
With the commendable goal of providing “Housing for All,” the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana was initiated. The most recent studies, however, show that policy changes, delays, and corruption are preventing its successful implementation.
The government has to crack down on corrupt officials and make sure the plan is carried out in a transparent and orderly manner so that the proper people profit from it.
